How to transfer files between phone and computer - Motorola Atrix

Motorola HD Multimedia Dock for Motorola ATRIX 4G (Motorola Retail Packaging)It is very easy to transfer files (music, video, photos) between your phone and computer.  It is a much faster way to transfer media when dealing with large files or a large number of files.  These steps are pretty standard for all Android phones with minor differences, however the following is the process recommended by Motorola
  • Ensure that memory card is inserted and Mounted.  If you are unsure if card is mounted or not, go to Settings>SD Card & Phone Storage>Unmount SD Card. (It will say "unmount" if the card is already mounted)
  • Connect your device to your computer with your USB cable
  • Once you see the USB icon in the Notification Tray, Drag down your notification shade and touch USB Connection Notification
  • Select USB Mass Storage
  • From your PC or Laptop, Select opencomputer or My Computer
  • Your phone should be listed as a Removable Device (G:) or other removable device
  • Select the Removable Device to open and view files.  These are your phones files containing Video, photos, and music.
    • Typically the files are designated as:
      • DCIM for Photo and Video
      • Notifications or Music for Ringtones
      • Music for your music
  • Once you find the file that you want to transfer, simply drag and drop into the appropriate library on your computer or device.
  • When your transfers are complete, from the notification shade on your phone, select Turn off USB drive, or Charge only.
  • Disconnect your device from the USB cable and computer and you're all set!
