How to Master Reset the Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100

Samsung i9100 Galaxy S II Unlocked GSM Smartphone with 8 MP Camera, Android OS, 16GB Internal Memory, Touchscreen, Wi-Fi, GPS - No Warranty - BlackPerforming a Factory Reset on your Samsung Galaxy S2 will remove all data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications.  This may or may not wipe the contents of the SD card.  It is recommended to perform a full backup before you go through the reset process, also please ensure that you have at least 3/4 charge before you reset.  Only perform this reset if absolutely necessary.


Standard Method

  • From the Home Screen, press Menu
  • Select Settings
  • Select Privacy
  • Select Factory Data Reset
  • Select Reset Phone
  • Select Erase Everything
Alternate Method
If the Phone is unresponsive or you are not able to go through the menu tree for a standard reset, follow these simple steps to reset using the physical keys on the device. You may need to pull the battery and reinsert if the phone will not shut off.
  • Press and hold the Volume Down button
  • While holding Volume Down, press and then release the Power button
  • Select Clear Storage by using the Volume keys to navigate to the option and then the power button to select
  • Press Volume up to confirm your selection

And that's it, you're all set!

  4. So my phone is being unresponsive. I took out the battery a couple times, still unresponsive. It would just say the Galaxy S2 sign, and turn off and on. I went to ride my horse for a while, and it was doing the same thing when I came back. Help! D:
